paulbaribeau: Spent most of the night and morning working on this .gif of Andy MacDowell. I was watching the movie Green Card with some friends the other day (a great movie) and this scene really struck me. I thought, “I’d like to make a .gif of Andy MacDowell taking a deep breath.” Then I realized I had no idea how to make a .gif from a DVD. So, last night I made it a project. Pulled up some websites, did some reading. Learned about setting hotkeys on VLC. Learned about auto-align on photoshop. Learned about how big tumblr will let a .gif be before it turns it into the stupid gray box. What is with the gray boxes Tumblr? I think, right now, I can say I did everything wrong at least twice. The thing is, that is how you learn. Right now I’m proud of myself. Not because I think this is an amazing .gif that the world needed to see. But because I set a small goal and did all the crap I had to do until it was finished. Keep in mind I like my .gifs to look “giffed out,” as I call it. So, here it is.
